Fly Fishing at Cameley Lakes

Cameley Lakes are set in a valley close to the Mendip Hills and just 5 miles
from Chew and Blagdon.
There are 3 lakes, totaling about 5 acres of water, fed by springs
that run down from the Mendip Hills.
The lakes were built back in the late 70's and are run by John and
Dulcie Harris. They are stocked on a weekly basis with both rainbows and browns varing in size from 1lb.04oz up to 12lbs in
weight.
The lakes are open all year round from 8.00am till an hour after sunset.
Fishing is by permit - which are available on site - bookings can
be made prior to your visit and this is sometimes advisable.
Costs are : Day
Ticket (4 Fish Limit) £25.00
Half Day (2 Fish Limit) £20.00
Father
& Son/Daughter (5 Fish Limit) £30.00
Children under 14 years of age (2 Fish Limit) £14.00
Methods of fishing - fly fishing only from the bank with a limit
to the size of hooks etc depending on time of year.
Food, Bar Drinks and accommodation are available on site at Cameley Lodge run by John Harris (Jnr) and his wife Paula. Advice on fishing is always available (from their two sons John and Ben
- both of whom have fished in the past or in the present England Youth Flyfishing Team - John won a team gold
medal at last years Internationals held at Rutland Water).
