CITY OF NEWCASTLE GYMNASTICS ACADEMY

Come along and join the North's No. 1 Academy for Gymnastics

Here at the Academy our goal is to provide a positive, fun experience in a safe learning atmosphere for all - from baby to adult gymnastics.

The coaching is led by Karen Chapman, High Performance Coach and National Judge, and Mike Redmond, International Performance Coach and Master Coach.

The Academy has recently acquired the expertise of Olympian gymnasts Craig Heap and Paula Thomas who were both competitors in the Sydney 2000 Olympics.

Also within the team there are over 25 other dedicated coaches.

All our Coaches hold British Gymnastics Coaching Qualifications.

The Gymnastics Academy at Benfield is one of the biggest gymnastics facilities in Europe.

Within the centre there are over 600 children participating in Recreational and Pre-school gymnastics each week.

The Academy has Elite Artistic gymnastics for both men and women; these gymnastcs can train up to 25 hours per week and include National squad members.

The Academy is also home to the City of Newcastle TeamGym. This is a popular and enjoyable branch of gymnastics featuring synchronised team gymnastics on floor, tumble and trampette.

TeamGym and the popular Adult gymnastcs classes are the largest growing sections of the Academy.

The City of Newcastle Gymnastics Academy Ltd (also known as CNGA) opened its new premises within the Centre for Sporting Excellence at the Benfield School site in 2001. It was opened by Alexei Nemoz and Svetlana Khorkina.
