To those people new to Narrow boating, when we talk about a cratch
in terms of a modern Narrow boat , we mean a wooden frame supporting a vinyl or acrylic cover over the well deck on the
front of the boat.
This produces a very useful extra dry space which can be used for
many different things - excellent for keeping a bag of coal / wellington boots / waterproofs / wet dogs or just a pleasant
place to sit or do a bit of fishing from!!
All cratch frames and covers are measured and constructed individually
as all boats are different.
This enables us to to build a cratch specifically for your boat
without compromise.
We use best quality sapele as standard for the framework - although
other timber types are available.
The covers are made from either a vinyl or acrylic waterproof material
in a choice of colours. They have a zip either side and the sides can also be rolled up and secured to the framework
in hot weather for extra ventilation.
