PROLOGUE
A Prophecy Is Born
The Creator’s
apprentice, the Overseer, a novice in the affairs of the Universe, had made errors that had left the Creator’s dreams
in disarray.
The Creator had
wished for a more exciting universe and had ordered a new galaxy to be made.
It had been the
Overseer’s task to create it.
It had used the
Sphere of Creation, a mystical stone of great power capable of reproducing life in outer space. But programming the stone
had been an architectural nightmare and after the stone had completed its planet-forming tasks the Overseer had realised only
eight planets had been created instead of nine.
The Creator had
been furious and its wrath had echoed around the cosmos. This omission would seriously affect the emerging life forms and
encourage disorder and conflict throughout the universe. The Creator had been forced to intervene and correct the Overseer’s
mistake before chaos took control.
It had ordered
the Overseer to find and collect all the left over fragments from the Sphere Of Creation and place them next to a black hole.
Out of these pieces it would try to create the missing planet and stabilise the universe.
The Overseer
had set about its task immediately, eager to regain favour and atone for its mistake. But in its enthusiasm to please one
of the fragments went undetected and was left floating through space.
Fate creates
many alternatives and had the Creator known of the stone’s existence, it would have retrieved it and Earth might have
been spared its fate but the stone went unobserved and drifted towards an unused Birth Star.
Destiny directed the Birth Star to the rock’s surface and in a hailstorm of fire created life. But
without the Creator’s guidance it journeyed around the cosmos mutating.
* * *
Less than one
hundred and thirty million kilometres away, on the surface of a dying planet, sat Cerberus, a planetary Mutoid. Around him
swirled particles of dust, scorched red by the rays of the sun. On the horizon dust storms swept the landscape lingering in
the air giving the planet an eerie red glow.
Mutoids were
evolutionary misfits created from genetic abnormalities found in Birth Stars. These, unscheduled monstrosities, had been rejected
by the Creator. Forced into obscurity and sent to live on a nearby planet they’d grown angry and resentful and vowed
revenge for their rejection.
Cerberus and
his fellow rejects lived beneath the surface in a labyrinth of dried up riverbeds. They’d outlived all other life forms
and were now the only species on the planet. Cerberus guarded the entrance to their underground lair keeping a watchful eye
on the stars above. Ancient prophecies spoke of a an immortal creature who would one day come from the stars and deliver them
out of exile.
Cerberus stood
up and stretched its legs. He yawed and each of its six heads mimicked the other.
Night
Watch had become a routine.
He flopped back
down, lowering his heads on his outstretch paws. He was just drifting off to sleep when a strange noise startled him.
He looked up.
Above him,
a fiery ball of light shot through the sky blazing a trail of fire through the stars. So bright was its brilliance he was
forced to close his eyes and shield him self from the heat. He remained like
this for several seconds, the heat from the overhead object scorching his skin. Gradually the heat diminished and he opened
his eyes. The comet was disappearing into the night its brightness fading into starlight.
Cerberus waited
until the burning rock had became yet another star amongst millions and returned to his nightly vigil.
In the starry
blackness of space, over thirty million kilometres away, the galaxy braced itself for the birth of a planet.
On its
voyage across the Cosmos the comet’s liquid interior would cool and evolve and with every millennium that passed the
life form inside would grow and mutate.
Eventually, a million millenniums in the future, it would return and fulfil the Prophecy...

Light Load Book Review
Does J.K Rowling have a Successor?
Children's author
Allen Hall may be 57 years old and to some this is an age where most people forgot what it was like to be a child but not
Allen Hall the author of The Wizard Master, he has shown with his exciting and fun writing that he is still a child at heart.
The author, who declined
to go down the normal route of looking for a main stream publisher decided to take full control of his masterpiece and went
down the brave road of Self-Publishing; a road that I believe today is one that more authors should take.
“It may have taken five
years to write and edit the book," the author replied, “but it has been well worth it with the huge response I have
had from children and adults alike.”
“You think back at all the hard times you had, editing the book with days
not believing that one day those words on the paper in front of you will turn into a book, all the memories of the pain and
the tiredness disappear when you see the delight on a child's face who tells you how much they enjoyed the book."
In this day and age when
we think about children's books we think of Harry Potter and J.K Rowling, which no one can disagree, has encouraged more children
to read. But is there any room for another children's authors to excite our children, well besides the underrated Jacqueline
Wilson who I personally believe is our leading British Children's author, apparently there is room according to the rave reviews
on The Wizard Master. And who are these reviews from, the media, book reviewers, NO! The reviews come from the most important
section of the writing community, the reader, the children, the children who want to be taken down the road of fun, excitement
and magical dreams.
“I think this
book is better than Harry Potter," one child remarked.
“I grab my book as soon
as I get home from school and go on a magical experience,” said another enthusiastic reader.
The Wizard Master is set in the future and
tells the story of Izward and his virtual reality adventure through time and space tearing children away from the mundane
television screens and instead into a book that is filled with more fun, excitement and magical adventures that any television
programme can offer. It is not just
children readers who are excited by the authors helping, adults are reading The Wizard Master as well, trying to go back to
their childhood in that safe, innocent world of where books can take you down a road that life cannot, a road of dreams, excitement
and adventure.
When people ask me what is a good children's novel I say it is when
parents like to read it to their child in bed and then once asleep read it themselves.
Due to popular demand the Author Allen Hall
is currently researching and writing his second series in The Wizard Master.
