Welcome to Rons Hedgehog Web Site

Welcome to Rons Hedgehog Web site. My name is Ron  Wall. I have always been interested in hedgehogs so here is a web site on hedgehogs and how to attract them to your garden. I live in a small village in  Herefordshire near the Welsh border. .

Learn over the next few pages how to attract hedgehogs to your garden.

Compost Heaps

Compost Heaps are a good thing to have in your hedgehog garden. Not only can you recycle all of your garden waste on your compost heap. But it will be home to all of the creatures which make up the hedgehogs diet. And you can also put a hedgehog box in the bottom of the compost heap so the hedgehog has some where safe to spend the winter hibernating

Log piles

Log piles do not have to be large.Stack the logs only two or three logs high with a gap in the bottom stack so the hedgehogs can get in side to get at the slugs and other insects which will also be inside.

Hedgehog box

If you have hedgehogs in your garden, providing a hedgehog box may encourage them to stay. The hedgehog box above is the optimum size. You can make it habitable by putting dry leaves but making sure you dont block the air vent.
