Size: Hedgehogs grow to around 25 cm in length from nose to tail, and have weight of around 1kg
Hibernation.
Around October hedgehogs start to constuct their winter nests and start
to build up their fat reserves for the long winter sleep. By November most hedgehogs have begun their hibernation.

Food: Slugs, snails, and caterpillars and other insects.
Features: Hedgehogs have around 5,000 spines on their back.
Alought hedgehogs have hundreds of fleas on their body, they are often accused of spreading their flees to human beings and
pets.This is not true. The hedgehog has its own species of flee which only breeds in hedgehog nests.
