On this page I will show you some of the hedgehog boxes I use to atract hedgehogs to my garden.

The siting of the box depends on your individual garden and from which direction the weather comes.
For example in the hot weather the box should be sited where it is shaded. In the winter it should be protected from the previously nested in your garden this may help you decide where to site the box.
Filling the nest with dry leaves and / or hay will mean the hedgehog has less work to do in building its nest.
Do not keep looking to see if a hedgehog is in residence. You could however put a small object at the entrance to see if it gets pushed away, this may indicate that an animal of some sort is useing the nest.

Both these boxes are available for sale in my ebay shop.

If you have hedgehogs in your garden, providing a hedgehog box may encourage them to stay. The hedgehog box above is the optimum size. You can make it habitable by putting dry leaves but making sure you dont block the air vent.I use my box to place the food in at night as only hedgehogs can get at the food as cats cant get past the tunnel. The hedgehog box bottom left is used for filming the hedgehogs as it is fitted with a infra red camera connected to my video and we can watch the hedgehogs on the tv

Hedgehogs live mostly on insects and other creatures that live on or just below the soil surface. Beetles such as cockchaferers, weevils and dung beetles are the commonest food, but earwigs, slugs, and caterpillars are almost as popular.

Their digestive systems have evolved to cope only with meat. So bread and milk is no good for them
The first way to a hedgehogs heart is through its stomach and nothing is better than a tin of cat or dog meat.I find dog food or cat food is both convenient and appreciated by the hedgehogs. The mushier the better. I use pedigree puppy food.
