This
Season started in sunny Dubai - where in addition to the Immortal Memory, I addressed the haggis using a traditional Arab
sword! The Immortal Memories carried on through January and February across England and Scotland including some iconic venues
such as the New Club in Edinburgh, The Grosvenor House Hotel in London, The Caledonian Club in London's Belgravia and
the Walbrook Club in the City of London with the tour rounded out with major events in Stockholm ( with Mairi Armstrong )and ten days in the USA .
It was
a great honour to be asked to chair The Chartered Institute of Bankers In Scotland's famous Grosvenor House Burns Supper
and to propose the Immortal Memory - and this night was another chance of performing
with the amazingly talented Red Hot Chilli Pipers (see them on http://www.redhotchillipipers.co.uk) and to work with The Gary Blair Band who remain a favourite
ceilidh band. As President of the Burns Club of London, it was great fun to be in the chair for its
sell-out 140th annual Festival Dinner and to contribute the Immortal Memory to the 'No 1 burns Club'.
On Rabbie's
birthday itself (Sunday 25th January 2009) I was lucky to be invited to speak at the Service of Commemoration at Westminster
Abbey where our poet's bust stands in Poet's Corner as part of a very moving and historical service as part of 'Year of The Homecoming' .
Bookings are already piling up for 2010 as there's been a huge demand for speakers and performers and there are
many opportunities to hold a party throughout the year, not just in January and February! Give me a call and we can chat about
what we could arrange for you! Have a quick look at what we can do: Event Planning and Consultancy
