In 2002 Jane Mackenzie started the comedy club at the George Hotel which proved an instant success, later it moved to the studio theatre at the New Garrick Theatre in Lichfield before moving back to the George with its new name “the Stroke Comedy Club”

Jane was joined by Ken Jenkins in 2004, who later took over the running of the club, which operates on the first Thursday of each month.

We bring the best comedy acts from the London circuit to the Garrick Room at the George, which has been described by many of the comedians as the best independent comedy room in the country.

We agree with them, modest eh!!
