On Friday 17th Feb 06 our club hut which had stood for over 30 years was destroyed by fire, together with all the
club boats, many private boats, and most of the clubs slalom equipment. In short we have lost everything!
However the actions of one or two mindless individuals will not deter us from carrying on. Our intention is
to rebuild our club house and continue to offer the opportunity to experience the thrills and spills of
this incredible sport to people of all ages and ability.

Manchester Canoe Club is one of the oldest Canoe Clubs in Great Britain. It was founded in 1933, and since then has been
involved in the development of the sport, particularly in the areas of river touring, both placid water and white water, and
