Welcome to UKSU JHQ LISBON website. The UK Support Unit and this website in particular is established to help you - service personnel, spouses and families - settle into life in Portugal.

The UKSU JHQ Lisbon covers staff from 5 areas, namely: JC LISBON, NCSA Sector Lisbon, JALLC, UKSU and BFPO.

Portugal is a tremendous place to live but of course it is different from the UK (the weather is better for a start!). There is a different culture here and local laws and regulations differ from those at home too. We hope the following pages contain the information you need to organise your trip out here, getting your belongings here, importing your car and so on. The information in this site is updated regularly, nevertheless, to be accurate, relevant and comprehensive, it is essential that all personnel forward proposed amendments as soon and often as possible.

Personnel joining must be aware that NATO has undergone a significant restructuring and as a result this HQ has a deployable role. It is important that personnel posted/drafted here establish if their post carries a requiriement for preparation to deploy. If so, much of the preparatory work can and must be done before your arrival.
