Welcome to our web site!

On this home page, we'll introduce our service and  give you some idea of how we work. We hope that you will consider us for your therapeutic needs and we very much look forward to meeting you.

The two partners of Fleet Counselling are Tricia Brinton and Wendy Morris, and are fully qualified and experienced counsellor/psychotherapists.

We are accredited members of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)and work within their Ethical Framework. We are also members of the United Kingdom Register of Independent Counsellors (UKRC).

We work both briefly or longer term depending on your needs. Our initial session is always an exploratory session to determine whether you consider that counselling may be a way forward for you and there is no obligation for you to continue. If you do decide to continue we would recommend that we meet weekly, if possible, so that we can build a good rapport.

We can offer you a non-judgemental, individual and confidential counselling service in which you will find:

TIME - Regular time and space to explore your thoughts and feelings

FREEDOM - To resolve your personal difficulties

SPACE - To discover who you are and what you need for yourself to activate growth and self awareness within safe boundaries.

We are not here to give you advice but to help you find a new perspective or way through your difficulty, whatever that may be, in this increasingly turbulent world. No problem is too trivial for us to help you with and we offer the greatest respect for anything that may be troubling you.

Fleet Counselling Service has been established since 1983. We offer a variety of approaches, tailored for the individual, which are all based on a humanistic philosophy. We offer counselling for:

  • individuals
  • couples
  • young people
  • children

We are both supervisors accredited by BACP and offer supervision for:

  •  counsellors
  •  counselling trainees
  •  others involved in the caring professions.

We receive regular consultative supervision to ensure that we are working helpfully and ethically with our clients.  We also continue in our own personal therapy.

'Counselling is a way of helping people through talking and listening. The client is encouraged to express their feelings and thoughts about their problems so they can understand themselves and their behaviour better and therefore improve ways of coping. '
BACP.
